Story Behind the Song
Written after breaking up with a true love, trying to wish them well, while honoring myself on how lonely I felt.
Lyrics
Heard today that the tie that binds,
bound you to your lover and you swore through time to go, I hope you grow.
Been so long since I seen your smile,
I met you at the river and we talked awhile of old, times we'd known.
Free as a child, I danced on air, kissed you softly,
I stroked your hair of gold, in the sun it shone.
Lying on my back in a meadow, looking up, I think I might fall,
out through the blue into the void beyond.
Walking together, and I turned and you were gone.
Oh, I wonder, does it mean anything to you now?
Anything to you now? Anything to you now?
Storms hit hard with a fury and a rage,
Try to hold on, I get swept away.
I heard her say, it's got to be that way.
Washed down the river and caught in the tide,
you can't run from your fate, you gotta go for the ride, You got to go for a ride.
Lying on my back in a meadow, looking up, I think I might fall,
out through the blue into the void beyond.
Walking together, and then I turned and you were gone.
Oh, I wonder, does it mean anything to you now?
Anything to you now? Anything to you now?
Does it mean anything, to you now?
