Story Behind the Song
It is a stream-of-consciousness type of song about alcohol, violence, pride, and protecting your turf...
The motivation was gang violence and related activity that we experienced first hand, although we never took part in it actively. Really.
Instead of living it out in real life we chose to sing about it, it's more constructive that way.
Lyrics
There is a time and there is a place,
When everybody comes face to face,
With reality, where've you been?
When we begin to sin
I told you a dozen times,
To stay the hell out my town,
But you don't ever give in,
And that's when we begin to sin
Life is full of temptations,
I need to protect my reputation,
But you don't ever give in,
And that's when we begin to sin
When I think of yesterday,
Seems like dues I have to pay,
Just don't give me no gin,
'Cause that's when we begin to sin
