Story Behind the Song
I was feeling a little overwhelmed. This song popped in my head. As I wrote it, I realized how at times, I feel overwhelmed, and at other times I feel like I can face anything. I believe we should be there for each other. We need to reach out when we need help, and reach out to others that need help. We are all brothers and sisters.
Lyrics
Reach Out
by Linda McKeeth © 7/2/02
Have you ever felt life was leaving you behind?
Have you ever felt like there's just not enough time?
Have you ever felt like you're losing your hold?
Have you ever felt timid and not bold?
Have you ever felt like you're screaming inside?
Have you ever felt like you can not turn the tide?
Have you ever felt yourself dizzy in a whirl?
Have you ever felt disconnected from the world?
Reach out, someone will give you strength.
Reach out, someone will give you strength.
Reach out.
We all go up. We all go down.
Wax and wane; a smile and a frown.
But never down all of us at the same time.
Have you ever felt like you could take on the world?
Have you ever felt like you knew what mattered?
Have you ever felt like the world is in your hands?
Have you ever felt like you have the perfect plan?
Have you ever felt things were falling into place?
Have you ever felt like you're going to win the race?
Have you ever felt yourself dancing in a whirl?
Have you ever felt connected to the world?
Reach out, someone needs your strength.
Reach out, someone needs your strength.
Reach out.
If we reach out to each other,
We'll discover a sister or brother,
Someone to be lifted or a lifter.
It's all a part of the great plan -
To serve and be served by our fellowman.
Reach out, someone will give you strength.
Reach out, someone needs your strength.
Reach out.
