    Story Behind the Song
I think that Astronaut is one our songs that doesn't have a darkside. It's pretty much a head bobber with a bunch of spacey stuff going on. Although the lyrics were written about 5-6 years ago, now all I can see when I close my eyes while listening to the song is Lance Bass training to fly the space shuttle. Sorry Lance.

David Castell, the best producer/engineer in Big D, recorded the drums. We then recorded the rest of the tracks at our home studios and brought the song back to Dave in order to mix. This is the first time that we have done it this way and we are pretty stoked with how it turned out. Nuendo and Dave Castell rule!

    Lyrics
    Astronaut

You put me down because I said that I want to be a rock and roll astronaut
I feel like a clown, so I’m going to paint my face just like Space Ace
But I am not going to fall into the wrong crowd
The time for diligence is now
Space is the place for me
There’s no other place that I would rather be
Than hanging around the galaxy with you
    Baby it’s true

    Don’t you feel so small
That we could just fall together
    I calculate the stars
    We could just fall together
    We’ve already come this far
    We could just fall

I want to be with you in a vacuum
Riding on a vapor trail to nowhere
Somewhere has got to be better than here
    Our proximity to oblivion
Not half as far as the state that we’ve been living in

    Don’t you feel so small
That we could just fall together
    I calculate the stars
    We could just fall together
    We’ve already come this far
    We could just fall
