Story Behind the Song
I wrote most of the lyrics in 1981 and tuned it up to a rocker in 1996.
The lyrics mean that nothing surprizes me at all, in life. "Show me anything, anything at all, and I bet I learned it from Books & Bathroom Walls".
Song was recorded in my studio by myself. I guess you can say that it took me 15 yrs to complete, but not really!!
Lyrics
Just when I thought I knew it all, return to books & bathroom walls.
Just when I thought I've seen it all, return to books & bathrooms walls.
Show me a begger, begging on his knees
And I'll show you his cadilac parked down the street.
Show me that blind man with his tin cup,
And I'll show you the gun he uses for his stick-ups.
Show me anything anything at all, and I bet I learned it from books & bathroon walls.
Show me anything you think might crowd me, And I bet I have it already crowdin around me.
Show me that woman that loves her man, and I'll show you a worn man the best I can.
Now show me someone that's got a good plan, and I'll you someone else already raised there hand.
Show me anything anything at all , and I bet I've learned it from books & bathroom walls.
Show me anything you think might astound me, and I bet I have it already astounding around me.
-- books & bathroom walls, I've learned it from, books & bathroom walls, Learned it from, books & bathroom walls --
Now show me that new love you wish to hold true.
Could be in the long run, it just might dump on you.
Now show me a problem you think is well in hand.
Just don't rule out, ending up pounding sand.
Show me anything anything at all, and I bet I've learned it from books & bathroom walls.
Show me anything you think might crowd me, and I bet I have it already crowdin around me.
-- books & bathroom walls, I learned it from, books & bathroom walls, learned it from, books & bathroom walls!
