Story Behind the Song
I attended Berklee School of Music in Boston and meet Jaco in 1985. He was in realy bad shape.
There he was, my favorite musician of all time in the worst shape imaginable.I was sad by the fact that such a genious can abuse himself like that. When I learn about is tragic death I was terribly sadded but not suprised. From that day on I listen and read about everything on the man.I even kept in touch with is wife Ingrid who is a sweet person.I still try to put my hand on the BBC special on Jaco called Punk-Jazz.I am so inspired by Jaco that I decided to put this song together. The song as no pretences. It, of course doesn't have the soul of Jaco's compositions but you will probably enjoy the voice and the bass playing of Jaco on it.
This song is the only way I could realise my dream of playing with Jaco.I have a lot of respect for Jaco and his family.I wrote to Ingrid Pastorius and let her know that I was putting this song on my site and I let her know that if she feel in anyway offended or unconfortable about the song that I will take it off the site.If you are a big fan of Jaco let me know maybe we can hook up !
