Story Behind the Song
After 20 years of being a Psychotherapist, I learned from my clients what was really important in life and what had to be released. Old pain, losses, phoney pursuits, all the things that denied a person access to their True Self. Once that was found, that individual would take off like a rocket.
Like a lot of my songs, this one can be also viewed as God singing to us.
Lyrics
Soldiers are like heroes
Falling to the ground
Lovers are like zeroes
When strewn all around
Women are like songbirds
Crying in the wind
Men are like sufferers
Who are trying to begin
Find your way to sorrow
Find your way to pain
Find your way to love again
And then - Let It Begin
This journey you sought before
Is no longer at the door
It is gone . . .
Like those Castles in the Sand
So try and love again
And that will bring an end
To those horrors
And those Castles in the Sand
"I remember when"
That's a songwriter's lament
And it's not sorrow
He's trying to escape or forget
But love he fears the most
Like some shadows or a ghost
Like lovers who don't know
Where to end or begin
No castles in the sand
Can ever help you to stand
On the ground . . .
That you prepare from underneath
So sail away with me
And leave those castles be
They will fall away
All by themselves
And I will hurry along
Unto our next song
And sing with you, my dear
So joyfully . . . oh yeah
Yes, I am here right now
And I'm telling you to be proud
I'm saying that I love you
Forever more
So sing with me my dear
And never shall you fear
Sing with me right now
And forever . . .
