Story Behind the Song
It's about refusing to be convinced that just because someone has authority over you, that automatically makes them right. The cynical advice repeated in the chorus is not an excuse for apathy, but just a warning that if you rely solely on the things of the world, you'll be let down everytime.
Lyrics
I don't even need you, but still you act like it's true, acting high and mighty and saying what to do, playing the game by the rules like it was meant to be played but now you're caught in a daze and you need to be saved.
So when you think you've got it figured out, just look up. There's still things that you're confused about, what the fuck you saying now bitch? Hypocrite, take a look at your life, and what you're teaching us.
Don't try to save the world,
it can only take away from you,
things you'll never get back,
so take your life back. Take it all back.
Nothing in this world is just for you to see, take a step back and set your mind free, free from routine and the burdens that we bear, free from expectations of those that don't care, like the ones that see you everyday of your life. I've said it before, man, free me from my strife. Think outside the lines and question everything, don't listen to the bullshit pulling at your heart strings.
