	Story Behind the Song Eric Bogle wrote: If you walked the road to Dundee today, you'd probably get run over by a large truck, but this is a song about a gentler time. I generally only sing Scottish traditional songs in the privacy of my own home where I can't hurt anybody, but this song was a favourite of my mother's, hence it has been a lifelong favourite of mine, and I was delighted to get a chance to record if for inclusion in the Melbourne Scottish Fiddle Club's latest mega blockbuster hit CD.
