a pretty cool punk/alternative song about this past summer |
Credits: Shaun Morgan, Geno Lamb, Mark Angelini |
Story Behind the Song
I wrote this to win the favor of a girl (of course), then I realized that she'd be nothing but a person trying to dominate my life. I wrote it over 2-3 months. After we got the riffs written, it took 2 and a half hours to record because of careless mistakes.
It took us probably about 35-40 takes to get it satisfactory (tis kinda sad isn't). Oh well I thought it turned out pretty decent.
Lyrics
one by one, you steal my sanity
and one by one, you take what's left of me
and one by one, you push me to the brink
and one by one, you make all my pride sink
I have been sitting in my room
and it is all because of you
and so many days have come and past
and this summer will never last
bit by bit, you just degrade me more
and bit by bit, you just become a bore
and bit by bit, you make me realize
that bit by bit, you'd just control my life
so bit by bit, I will push you away
and bit by bit, my sanity will stay
I have been sitting in my room
and it is all because of you
and so many days have come and past
and this summer will never last
I have been sitting in my room
and it is all because of you
and so many days have come and past
and this summer will never last
because you have made me try to be
someone who really isn't me
so I will just stay who I am
and not your sacrificial lamb
