    Story Behind the Song
It is one of the first I wrote and recorded on my own, after years of being a guitarist in various bands. The music was done in 2000, and I laid down the first vocals, but didn't come back and fix them or add on anything else until I did the album in 2002. Making the song represented a positive change in my life, and it is often the track that people point out when they hear it. The song is meant as a "personal" statement to a few people from my past.

    Lyrics
    One dance is never enough
    One chance, only in love
You've got to know when to stop

    Arm's length and reaching within
    This time, maybe you'll win
    And so it begins

    You have no more courage,
    It has weakened your will
    There's nothing left to take,
    Just this bitter pill

More tears than you had imagined
More steps that need to be climbed
Before you stand at the top
Eyes of fire stare in the mirror
    Darkened rings encircling them
Do you know who you are?

    I've cried my last tears
No more water in my blood
    Please ask another question
I think we knew where you stood

I chased all over this world
    Bent over, twisted for you
You couldn't give me the truth
Become what you believe you are
    I believe, you never knew
You're so convinced this is you

    You'll have the satisfaction
You can run wheneve it rains
Try hard to be something other
Try to wash off the stain

    Two sides to evey story
    Maybe more yet
You can believe what you want to
    I've said my bit
