	Story Behind the Song This is one of the two songs I was named after. The other was a Tahitian one called simply "manu rere". The lyrics here are the first verse of the traditional version. As for the melody...I started out with the original one -- very Pacific-sounding, and in a major key -- and screwed with it until I had...*this*. Recorded using the built-in mic on my laptop, on a bad throat day without enough warmup and without being able to monitor on my headphones; just wanted to get *something* up.
