Story Behind the Song
This song is actually almost a year old. And, like all great stories, it's about a girl. :P I reference it in the song a bit, too, the inspiration. Ah, and what inspiration, too...inspired many a song she did, including an unreleased one "Mountains & the Seat to the King of Ireland". Essentially, I ran into said girl at a local restaurant and saw what I considered the light. I felt I was robbed of true love, and that I always would be alone. And without her. Yeah, kind of crazy, but that's how I felt at that time. But, a song came out of it, right?
Lyrics
I've grown so tired of this life
And all it seems to offer me
And when I think it's figured out
Some shift becomes reality
And when I look upon your face
In some abandoned restaurant
I think of how we never get
The things we truly want
And maybe sometimes
It's easier just to leave
And maybe sometimes
I wish that you were a dream
But, most of the time
I think about how I wish I knew
If this was true
How could it end up just like this?
I thought a movie ended well
And how the order melts away
When life has spiraled into Hell
I guess I should accept my place
I have no doubts of who I am
I hear nice guys, they finish last
Now I think they just get the sham
And maybe sometimes
It's easier just to leave
And maybe sometimes
I wish that you were a dream
But, most of the time
I think about how I wish I knew
If this was true
And maybe sometimes
It's easier just to leave
And maybe sometimes
I wish that you were a dream
But, most of the time
I think about how I wish I knew
If this was true
I've grown so tired of this life
I don't think that I can take much more
But, still, you give it all meaning
