    Story Behind the Song
All my music is done in my stillwater apartment by just me. I got a bass about 2 weeks before I finished recording this song. The song took a little under 2 months from conception to finish. Most vocals and the piano were spur of the moment one takes.

This was a composition for (of all things) an Entomology course at OSU. I wrote a 3 page paper over it so if you want my thoughts on it, Email me for a copy (.DOC).

    Lyrics
Don't tell me not to be scared
    cause we're both scared
Don't tell me that you need air
cause there's none here to share

Don't say you've got my mind right
When you can't feel the light at all
Why don't you stick out your free hand
    and put up a fight?

    Once nobody knows,
    Nobody ever knew.
    I was always there
    (at least before you)

    Nobody cares
    Nobody has a clue
    It was always there
    Like volcano flu

    Ordinary fear
    Doesn't compare
    To the narrow escape
    That is my everyday

So put your foot down hard
    And drive me home
    Never going back
Now that you've shown me the way

    Passed out today and
Thought I was rid of it
    Woke up afraid
My skin wasn't going to fit
But now from where I sit
I can see a thousand truths

    End the fear
    You assumed I didn't get
    Send me
    Just to say I'm sent
    If you were me
    I'd return the sentiment
Don't take it easy on me. Mercy

As you draw back I'm reminded
Of when we were the size of gods
    But now you're rushing downward
    and I'm at a loss

It's a nasty thing to happen
But I wouldn't cry out if I could
    cause it's a healthy paranoia
and it looks good on you
