Story Behind the Song
Back to the days in my Hollywood closet studio (really!)
Afunkadiddle was to be my 1st release on an internationally released guitar compilation CD- I was very excited.
It was released on “Guitar on the Edge”- Volume 1 in 1992.
The “piccolo like harmonics are from a technique I developed that is similar to one of Van Halens Harmonic tricks.
Lots of String Skipping, multiple notes per string pentatonics and arpeggios... and just about every technique imaginable! This song also featured some Slap and Pop techniques I had been working on.
Gear used was: (by memory)
- Roland R-5 for Drums and Bass
- Kramer Pacer Imperial Guitar
- 1984 Marshall 50 wt head direct out into a Rocktron Juice Extractor (fuzz city!); into an Alesis Quadraverb going direct to a Tascam cassette 8 track recorder.
