    Story Behind the Song
This song was written many years ago in a band Mike was in (Closet Monster). Mike came up with music and Amy was gracious enough to write the lyrics and melodies for it. At the time, it was a full blown power ballad. The song was recorded by Closet Monster (without vocals) but never released. Amy and Mike felt it was too good of song to not be released but needed to be changed to fit Swim. The end result is a stripped down song about the aftermath of a breakup or divorce with only an acoustic guitar and two voices to propel it. Many thanks to Jeff Koller (ex. drummer/backing vocalist for Closet Monster) for his fine harmony vocals which added so much to the song.

    Lyrics
Heavy loads we carry, me and you
So nevermind that we're still broken
Desperation threw together me and you
So nevermind that we're so different

Too much time as well as money has all
    been spent
Let's try to fix what seems broken
Now I watch and wait in silence
To catch an answer falling from your lips
And you lie, and I lie

With all I've had I've been to you I saw
    you through
Still it's not enought for you
The lonely days, the sleepless nights, the
    endless fights
    It's not enough for you

Not another day has come for me and you
For us to fix what seems broken
Carry on with you the memory
    That I too will remember

That you lied, and I lied

So nevermind that we're still broken
    Nevermind
