This Hymn of course is best known for the story surrounding it's writing. H.G. Spafford (1828-1888) received word that the ocean vessel in route to England with his wife and 4 daughters on board had a terrible accident at sea, his wife was his sole surviving family member. Mr. Spafford later trying to come to grips with the loss of his children, boarded a vessel himself, and travelled to the very spot. There in a very short time, he penned the words to this now famous hymn. The music in this piano rendition is reminiscent of the full-range of emotions expressed by this song: sadness, deep sentiment, passion, acceptance, triumphant statemnent. | MP3.com CD: Relaxing Piano Hymns - buy it!
