Story Behind the Song
This is another one take wonder, as each track is, on the cd Yours To Discover. It was lyrically constructed by Mr. Peterkin somewhere out by the great beyond, on what I'm sure was a very surreal afternoon. The music was then pieced together after sorting through various jams inspired by the lyrics.
It' a tune which passes through various sections, each completely different from the other. It once again deviates from the familiar verse/chorus structure dominating today's airwaves; but then how else would you think a jammed out trip would go??
Lyrics
Part 1:
She covers her baby in blankets from rain just to watch it all begin again.
She gave to her baby just about everything that she could but her name.
She said that they're good for just about anything, and this one will eat-up my pain.
This is the ring that she said not to wear,
when she smiled, but she couldn't explain
Part 2:
Met her on the way home from school when we smoked and sat and it all got cool; and she led me down a path of pretty stones.
Now and then don't ask me why, but I'll see her floating when I close one eye.
And then the wind will pick up; she'll all just rearrange.
I know to me it seemed a shame.
We spent the evening in the rain out, running west to catch the sun.
Sometimes when I'm kicking 'round and I hear the echo before the sound.
And I wonder how I ever got so high?
Part 3:
Times were tough and times were lean and evenings smelt like kerosene.
My blanket would warm me 'til the day.
Dentist's drills and haunted dreams of Carter's evil jellybeans, until the sun came
up and blew 'em all away.
Times were rough and times were tough.
I always thought I had enough to feed my bony bod.
Now it seems I'm doing fine.
An evening tastes like homemade wine in a heavy healthy gut.
