He was always smiling, would never complain, Even though we knew what pain he was going through. This man I knew, he could really play and sing, When he would stand up to that mike. The words were straight from his heart, He could make this old world all right. Now to some he was just a tall country boy, With a lanky walk and a twinkle in his eye. But to us he was just about everything, The thought of him still makes us cry. So when I hear Hank Williams or Roy Acuff, I can see him on that Opry stage too.
