Story Behind the Song
Recorded at the Full Bench Recording Studios, Adelaide, South Australia in September 2002, "Attribute" showcases the melodic and mainstream musical style of Zero Return. The song features rich harmony vocals and two part keyboard arrangements used extensively by the band, underpinned by strong drum, bass and guitar rhythms. As for the lyrics.... take a look, while you listen, and paint your own pictures.
Lyrics
I respected you, but not anymore,
You're so inconsistent, just do as you would do before
And you're so pretentious,
Can't you see that you have flaws just like everybody else.
Just take a long, hard look at yourself.
At most you made acquaintances but were they ever really there ?
You may have got there twice as fast but at least I played fair.
Now you're holding on to what you knew, you're not trying anymore,
The nostalgia has given you an ego trip, but not much more.
And you're twice as cool now - now that two of you exist,
Or are there two of him ?
How can you call yourself an individualistic man ?
Just try it if you can.
