Story Behind the Song
This song came to be when Shattered Iris's bass player had a bad experience with percription drugs one night, and then wrote these lyrics. Ive asked him many times exactly what the song means, and I'm not real sure he knows himself, but I think it can mean just about anything you want it to.
Lyrics
It seems so far, yet it is near.
I am calm, but I still fear.
No notion, no life.
Cannot leave the strife.
I look, but I don't see.
Everything's the same to me.
Blind in a world of light.
What are we without sight?
Who looks past the shell?
Who sees what we really are?
Why don't the world seem right?
Blind in a world of light.
What are we without sight?
It seems so long, yet it was only yesterday.
What was that game we used to play?
Past people remember things.
What are birds without wings?
Blind in a world of light.
What are we without sight?
Who looks past the shell?
Who sees what we really are?
Why don't the world seem right?
Blind in a world of light.
What are we without sight?
Years of pain,
Look past the refrain.
Years of doubt,
I used to shout.
Had to let it all out.
Now I'm blind and I cant see.
The world don't look the same to me.
Blind in a world of light.
What are we without sight?
Who looks past the shell?
Who sees what we really are?
Why don't the world seem right?
Blind in a world of light.
What are we without sight?
