Story Behind the Song
I never finished the vocal yet. It's a personal lament, but it is set in New York and writ this year. I'm just pleased with the layering, that's why I uploaded at this time.... oh, and the 'Beast' is a pleasure-boat moored off South Street seaport, Downtown Manhattan.
Lyrics
Did I twist you? When the CDs fell and I threw them? When I first walked you into that battered and threadbare dirtfilled house?
Still I have you with me, you take my hand, in your eyes love, and a plea,
'take me to where I need to go'.
Through Chinatown we walked, through the working district of downtown Manhattan to the boat. See how the buildings shine.
Into the sun. No aeroplane disturbed our flight. Bees buzzed but we were peaceful together.
Behind the boat there is a building that fell like a marriage. Crushed by force from without.
Why should you endure this?
In these moments there is only you. What I do for you. What I do to you.
I see you on the river, now you are happy. you laugh. we took that boat to laugh and remember and forget earlier times.
If I loved you like I should, surely you'd forgive me all you could.
