Acoustic/electric rock- darkly melodic pop, jazzy, but with lots of drive and energy. This is what lounge music would be like if lounges were hip happening places that liked to rock...

    Story Behind the Song
One of the first things I ever wrote, but refined over a number of years-it took me longer to complete this song than any other I've written though most of the song is still exactly as it was originally written. A favorite of mine.

    Lyrics
Flat on my back and wondering who, looking down at the stars from an inside view. I could reach almost any distance however far away - and though I'm lost and looking for you I think that I might stay...I might stay. So make no choice and give no reason, and why should it be you? Fall like rain though out of season, left behind I'm falling too.

Just as well we don't have the answers- reasons unknown, we don't need them today. A simple word and the memory stirs. A distant glimpse will come but will not stay. And for now, for the moment just who can tell. But you know that I'm thinking that it's just as well...

Thank you God for every detail- for every drop I catch down in my hell. Browning leaves on the dying city trees, we thrive on fear and we're easy to please. I'm too inhibited to do this well, I have my thoughts but they seem too pale. Dispite the distance we're never free, despite the avarice we want more - greed.

You know you're time is gonna come around- today you're the sky but tomorrow you'll wake up in the underground. Forget the names you had and the things you forgot to do- shake it up in a box and see where the pieces land when the bottom falls through...

So make no choice and give no reason, why should it be you? Fall like rain though out of season left behind I'm falling too.

Just as well we don't have the answers, forget the reasons we don't need them today. A simple word is never so simple, but the price is always easy to pay... And for now, for the moment just who can tell? But you know that I'm thinking that it's just as well because we're here, now and we're lost from view- that we were allowed, that I'm lost with you. It's just as well...
