	Story Behind the Song I lumped together many of the destructive relationships that I had as a teenager, and described the sum total of most of the stupid local boys I got caught up in. (I come from a small town. We had preps and bad boys, and the preps were too boring for me.) I also was disgusted with that Jewel song that says "You were always brilliant in the morning, smoking your cigarette" because that's not the way people are! everyone is ugly in the morning, and no one is smart. And I really did have a boyfriend who was arrested for an armed hold-up of two people on the street, who gave him all they had- eight dollars.
