"Springtime of Our Breakup" | genre: Folk | |

This song has keyboards, flute, vocals, and guitar. One of the more complex musically that I've written. Very pretty (I think). My goal with this song was to make the flute and voice dance with each other, especially in the last verse. I didn't want either to dominate. |

Story Behind the Song
Believe it or not, there's not much of a story behind this one. I just said to myself one day: "Hmmm, what if I could have a normal breakup? What would that be like?" This is what I thought of. It's sad, and doesn't stifle its sadness, but there is a happy understanding that this is just a part of life, and like all things, it will cycle again and again, only leaving us stronger.
