Story Behind the Song
This was the first original I ever did - back in the days of the Alternators. It's probably our funkiest. Written and recorded in Austin.
Lyrics
Been so long - been so sad and blue
Been six months - since I last saw you
Been alone - don't know what to do
Been alone - don't know what to do
Been half a year - since you took my love and ran
Been searching near and far - and everywhere I can
I guess it's real this time - I try to understand
But how I feel this time - man oh man
Been so long, been so sad and blue
Been so long - been so sad and blue
Been so starved - I need something new
Been so down - down and without you
Been so down - down and without you
Been half a year - you'd think I'd be a tougher girl
Been loud and clear - here in my solitary world
You aren't the one for me - I realize that it's true
I'm just so bad, bad, bad at not wanting you
Been so bad - been so wanting you
Been so long - been so mad and blue
Got to get strong - got to pull it through
And all along - been better without you
And all along - been better without you
Been half a year - you'd think I'd be a tougher girl
Been loud and clear - here in my solitary world
You aren't the one for me - I realize that it's true
I'm just so bad, bad, bad at not wanting you
Been so bad - been so wanting you
Been so long - been so mad and blue
Got to get strong - got to pull it through
And all along - been better without you
And all along - been better without you
