One of the more powerfull songs by AMYRIS. It's mainly about religious extremism. |
CD: Desire For Justice
Label: Independent

Story Behind the Song
This song was the first one that we wrote with our new drummer Franz. The whole writing was (for us) very quickly done in one or two rehearsals. The song was written shortly after the 11th September 2001 and consequently is about religious extremism of any kind.
We recorded the song at LFT-Studios, Rodgau/Germany with production help by our friend Marc Bugnard.
Lyrics
Fear the temple, fear their might
Can you forget it all, can you forget what they’ve done to you
“A broken heart, a broken soul”
How to forget the pain, how to forget your past
How to stand these agonizing days to come?
Your religious faith brought you trust and security
So the day will come to taste your sweet revenge
Justice, feel justice!
They tell you how to think and how to live your lifetime like they want
First they break your mind, then your soul and turn your body into their tool
Chorus:
Fear their temple of their might
Temple of spite
Fear their temple
Temple of spite
Can you forget the world, can you forget what they’ve done to you
You can’t rip it out what’s inside your mind
How to forget the pain, how to forget your past
How to stand these agonizing days to come?
Your religious faith brought you trust and security
Now the day has come to taste your sweet revenge
Justice, live justice!
They tell you how to think and how to live your lifetime like they want
First they break your mind, then your soul and turn your body into their tool
Chorus:
Fear their temple of their might
Temple of spite
Fear their temple
Temple of spite
