Story Behind the Song
i wrote this song in Hershey, PA. i woke early and went outside in the cool august air, sat on a chair and wrote the song in about 10 minutes. it was refined a little, but the recording only took about an hour itsself. My very good friend Pat is singing backup. i hope to have him sing alot more in the future.
Lyrics
its friday, i cash my check
you take my card, type the numbers, and do your job
i try to start a conversation, behind the line grows
i must move on, perhaps tomorrow,
ill see you on the road
if you could see my heart dyin, maybe then youd know
im sorry for never tryin, never letting our love grow
its next friday, walk up to you, you see straight
through me
relaxed and calm, while i sweat and studder so
i want only to buy you a drink
and to know that we went the right way
i get the nerve, think fast and ask you, can i buy you
a drink?
you look up, see whos talkin, slowly walk away
i understand you coulnt take it, it took years for me
i leave a note, again just asking, just if you want to
meet
but i want only to buy you a drink
and to know that we went the right way
dont walk away like you did before
and tell me, did we do the right thing?
