A punchy little electropop song. Those loud, irritating strangers in public you wish you could slug, reconfigured for festive danceability. |

Story Behind the Song
Inspired by the sounds of the office elevator. Features a number of our friends, in the word processing temp business, contributing their voices and dialog to the "elevator rap" section. That's not your best color, you know.
Lyrics
People who talk in elevators
Make me feel I've got things to hide
They don't care who hears what they say
Really know how to open wide
They know all ears are upon them
They are able to ignore
Wish that I could have that power
Me, I just stare at the floor
Motormouth, motormouth, just can't shut up
People who talk in public bathrooms
Aren't the kind I want to meet
They admire their reflection
Give off a strange kind of heat
They like to be near running water
It's a problem of the glands
Talk about the Yankee ballgame
I just watch my washing hands
[Elevator Rap]
[Up and down their lower lips go,
Causing lots of air to move
They'll get to their destination
Way before the rest of us do]
People who follow you on sidewalks
Always have demands to make
Give them money, or a chance to
Sermonize or put the make
People who talk in movie theaters
Should be boiled in popcorn oil
Stop their endless information
So much less their mouths will toil
People who talk in elevators
Make me get all closed up inside
Keep promoting their opinions
Try to prove they're bona-fide
They know all ears are upon them,
Victims of their stock and store
With that I could have the power
To have them swallowed by the floor
