    Story Behind the Song
Originally written in the early 80's, this song has survived about a half dozen demo versions since then. Except for the percussion performed by Joe Bop at Bop Recording Studio, Sam played all the instruments and sang all the vocal parts for this take at his F'Cough Productions studio in October, 2002.

    Lyrics
    Time To Party
lyrics and music by Sam Cooper

You know it’s time to party.
I said it’s time for fun.
You know it’s for everybody, so come on everyone.
You know it’s time for good times,
    And everybody’s hot,
I said it’s time to party, so let’s all give it everything we got.

Now all day at the job we been workin’ hard,
And each of us needs some kind of release.
When we’re finally out we all can drop our guards,
And have the kind of time we wish would never cease.
    I said it’s time,
    You know it’s time,
Well, ain’t no crime to have a good time,
    Come on, come on, come…

    Time to party.
You know it’s time for fun.
I said it’s for everybody, so come on everyone.
You know it’s time for good times,
    And everybody’s hot,
I said it’s time to party, so let’s all give it everything we got.

No one wants to be a workin’ stiff all the time,
‘Cause work without play makes a dull boy.
Don’t let anybody tell you fun is a sin,
‘Cause they don’t know the meaning of joy.
    I said it’s time,
    You know it’s time,
Well, ain’t no crime to have a good time,
    Come on, come on, come…

You know it’s time to party.
I said it’s time for fun.
You know it’s for everybody, so come on everyone.
I said it’s time for good times,
    And everybody’s hot,
You know it’s time to party, so let’s all give it everything we got…vamp
