Story Behind the Song
When I heard that there were some passengers that may have fought for United Flight 93, I had to see if it could be turned into a song. This was the result.
Lyrics
CHORUS
There were three heroes on United 93,
As it departed on that fateful day.
There were three heroes
Who would not give in,
Their mem'ry will never fade away.
Flight 93 was hijacked
just after it left the ground,
And these three guys were gettin' tired
Of bein' pushed around.
They didn't know just what to do
Or who would be the one,
They just knew that something
Had to quickly be done. (CHORUS)
Not much is known of these three men
Who formed a little band,
Did they know each other,
Or were they maybe friends?
One brave man had called his wife
And told her what they'd planned,
They were going to take the plane back
From the terrorist's hands. (CHORUS)
V3 (slower)
We now know the story
Of what took place that day.
Terrorists had gone and turned
Three other planes astray.
One flew into the Pentagon,
The others to New York,
To bring the World Trade Center down
In a cloud of dust and smoke. (CHORUS)
(CHORUS) up to tempo
