Contemporary classical "symphonic/electronic" Romantic/Classical/Contemporary major composition by COMPOSER: John David Thomas, graduate of Ball State University, 1976, with Bachelor's degree in Music Theory & Composition from there...this music is about 10 minutes in length!! This composer is also the solo recording artist here, playing all instrumental sounds on pro keyboards in the recording studio...everything was recorded on 16-track DIGITAL on Alesis ADAT recorders, and was done in layers, one "orchestral instrumental sound" at a time...a LABORIOUS undertaking, but well worth it!! Listen for yourself to this musical "feast", rich in sound as well as musical content and taste!! | MP3.com CD: MUSICAL ESSENCES - buy it! MP3.com CD: JDT CD Single #4: - buy it! Story Behind the Song
This was originally composed by contemporary composer, Mr. John David Thomas, in 1972 while he was earning his undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Science, 1976, Ball State University) in Music Theory & Composition...and was performed "live in concert" before a combined audience of 6,400 people in Emens Auditorium at Ball State University's main campus in Muncie, Indiana "in a Brass arrangement" format for the Ball State Brass Choir in the rear balcony of Emens Auditorium at the conclusion of the BSU University Singers "SPEC '72" concert in March, 1972...during the 2 concerts given there. In making this totally new, original arrangement, fully orchestral and symphonic in nature, John David Thomas has incorporated not only the original "CHANT" he composed as a college student at Ball State University in 1972, but also in the middle section of this large-scale major work and recording, he also utilizes a "second CHANT theme" he composed in northern California in the summer of 1969 when he was living there...a "CHANT" that he composed on a large church pipe organ in Los Gatos/San Jose, California in a Presbyterian church there...the end result is a total musical "experience" and extravagantly arranged, orchestrated and produced modern digital recording, with the composer playing all of the instrumental parts on this recording on keyboards in the recording studio in the basement of the large house in which he has lived from 1991-2002 in the northern suburb of Indianapolis, Indiana, USA known as "Carmel"...this basement studio is called "Studio Central"...it was recorded onto Alesis ADAT digital tape recorders (2 machines in tandam, for 16 tracks of digital recording), and mixed through a RAMSA pro mixer (20X8X2) and then through a T.C. Electronics Wizard Finalizer for the final mastering, prior to the remastering by Mr. Les Ohmit of Ohmit Recording, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA...this music is EXTRAVAGANT and RICH in thich orchestral layers and textures, combined with the thick synthesized "strings" sections, and with PULSATING electronic DRUMS, all played "manually, by hand, one note at a time" by the composer, again on a pro keyboard that is connected to the Digital Drums module (Alesis). This music composition is about 10-1/2 minutes in length, and is a sonic "feast for the ears and mind"...be sure to listen to this music...it will INSPIRE you and UPLIFT you!!!
