    Story Behind the Song
This was written on a crisp night while smoking. I realized I was commiting a sort of slow motion suicide because I couldn't get a hold of the heart I most desired. I gave up on her, and I've quit smoking since.

    Lyrics
    Light my cigarette
Exhale the smoke to blow the match out.
Pout my lips and lick my fingertips
    To turn the page.

    Magazine ad
    Says it’s bad
    It’s not the answer
    Gonna gimme’ cancer
But I need this smoke to warm my heart from its sedation

(And I) Cry of criminal situation
    My cremation
    Of my lungs
    Is to avoid asphyxiation
    Dormant melancholy sighing
    My tongue’s lying
When I say I wanna’ take all the I love you’s back
    Baby, I’m crying
    I’m dying
    I’m lying here
    Naked on my back
Your indifference has thrown my entire system out of whack
And forcin’ me to fade to black
Ashes all will fall after all
That’s what they’re supposed to do
But what am I supposed to do with you
    Ashes, ashes all fall down
    Who’s the biggest fool around
    Maybe it’s me
    No definitely

I Squeeze the filter ‘tween my fingers
    Just to drop the cherry
    Better drop this habit
    I won’t have it
    Any other way
    Have to extinguish this flame
    Just to distinguish my name
    From the lame
Things I used to call myself
    Before
I felt the need to even up the score
    To avoid a permanent vacation

    Repeat Chorus
    (with this alternate ending)
Blow a smoke ring around the rosie
    Pocket full of strangled posies
    ashes ashes all fall down
    who's the biggest fool around
    Maybe it's me
    No definately

    Repeat Chorus
