Dan started his piano studies at age 6, with no piano at home. He practiced on neighbors pianos for three years. At age 8 he shocked the audience of a semi-annual concert at the distinguished Rubin conservatory in Jerusalem, being the first student to play a non classical piece (the entertainer). In high school Dan's band won first prize in the Jerusalem song competition and went on to the national finals. Dan came to New York in 1991. He obtained a Masters degree in classical composition and Jazz performance from Manhattan School of music where he teaches now in the pre college division. His composition students are pursuing musical careers in colleges such as Colombia, Princeton, Carnegie Melone and Eastman. Dan writes everything, from orchestral scores in Bartok style to new age to hip hop to rock, pop, techno and dance. Dan's music was performed in New York's Weill recital hall at Carnegie hall, Greece, south America, south east Asia and Israel. He composed numerous sound tracks and was a musical director of a number of musical theater productions.
