Story Behind the Song
Unfinished Business is about things that end too soon - before their time. It is a song about friendship, ambition, loss and guilt. The song was written at Sliding Door Studios in between takes on a session for another song. The music was written on a guitar in only a few minutes and the lyrics followed soon thereafter. This is the title cut from our new album "Unfinished Business."
Lyrics
time will tell me, tell me what to do
I'm sittin' here baby, but I'm not sittin' here with you
hope you understand me
I'm the kind of man doesn't always know the right way to choose
tell me, tell me baby, I can't believe it's true
I’ve got some unfinished business, unfinished business with you
well I thought I was right
no way, now I know
now I'm sittin' here alone baby
I'm so sorry I let you go
can you understand me?
I was a fool, now I know
you left me here, now I'm wonderin' why, I just can't let you go
tell me, please oh tell me, I know it 'cause it's true
I've got some unfinished business, unfinished business with you
I've got some unfinished business
I've got some unfinished business with you
I've got some unfinished business
I've got some unfinished business with you
tell me, please oh tell me
I can't believe it's true
I've got some unfinished business
unfinished business with you
won't you call me and tell me what to do
a part of me is missing, baby, but I'm missin' all of you
hope you can forgive me for all I've done to you
I wish you were here now layin' it down, a groove, a boogie or two
one more time, one more song
some rhythm and some blues
don't want no unfinished business, no unfinished business with you
don't want no unfinished business
don't want no unfinished business with you
don't want no unfinished business
don't want no unfinished business with you
tell me, please oh tell me
I can't believe it's true
don't want no unfinished business
unfinished business with you
