Story Behind the Song
"If You Go Out Tonight," is a song about a warning from an observant devil to a club-going gothette. If she goes out, she will be unable to refuse the unhelpful influence of certain chemicals warranted by the pressure of her peers. It's quite possible that she'll receive more than she's bargained for, but that is of course, if she goes out tonight.

(Verse 1)
You may think that you've got second sight,
But you won't be coming home if you go out tonight.
Your white skin, crushed velvet dress
And tonight you're out for blood,
You're dressed to impress.
C'mon now,
Lead me with those black-rimmed eyes,
Lead me with those slender thighs, yeah,
I'll admit,
I'll be surprised,
I'll be surprised if you get home tonight.
(Pre-chorus)
If you go out tonight,
You know you won't forget
If you out tonight,
You know that you'll regret
If you out tonight.
If you go out tonight.
(Chorus)
Tonight,
The city's gonna burn
Tonight,
The world will cease to turn,
Tonight,
Your heart will cease to beat.
You'll end your lease on life if you go out tonight.
(Verse 2)
You know it wouldn't be very smart,
You've been a bad girl,
You've been breakin' hearts.
That red lipstick, sensual smile,
You've been askin' for it now,
For a little while.
C'mon now,
Lead me with those black-rimmed eyes,
Lead me with those slender thighs, yeah,
I'll admit,
I'll be surprised,
I'll be surprised if you get home tonight.
(Pre-chorus)
(Chorus)
(Repeat)
