    Story Behind the Song
I recorded this song to keep the flame of Tibetan Freedom struggle. ´

    Lyrics
    Rangzen(Independence)

    Brothers, listen to my words
    Sisters and brothers
At a deep place in my heart
The sadness has pooled for thirty years

    Chorus
    Rangzen
    Independence and freedom
    It's up to us
We are the ones who must make it a living fact
    Nobody'll ha nd it
    Out on a plate...
Nobody'll tell us, "Here it is..."
    Rangzen
    Total freedom
    For that
    We must
    All work as one

Brothers, we've lived too long on foreign soil
    Sisters and brothers
But I'll always follow the path
Of the brave Tibetans who have gone bef o re
And I'll forever follow His Holiness' path
For the freedom of our native land

    Chorus

THE VOICE OF HIS HOLINESS THE DALAI LAMA

    "...The religion
And the civilization of the people of Tibet
Are in danger of dying at the root.
The land of Tibet stand s i n danger
Of turning into the land of China.
We have no time to lose.
Tibetans in every quarter of the globe
Must be mindful of our rightful cause.
Ands if any one of us were not
    That would be shameful thing..."

    Chorus

    Brothers
    Sisters and brothers
W e mu st work till total rangzen's won (repeat)
    Brothers
    Sisters and brothers
And never, never forget that Tibet must be free

    *********
    1959

In nineteen hundred and fifty nine
D estru ction came pouring out of the east
The Red Chinese scoffed at our faith
And devoured a land that was not theirs

We peered through the air but couldn't see
For a pall of darkness had covered our land
No one heard ou cries for help
They were sucked up in an evil wind

Oh, I wish I were a running stream
Free to flow in the natural world
In our hmeland my brothers are clamped in a vise,
In the jailer's hand, the hangman's rack

Above the world the sun's bright rays
Shine on the nations and dissipate gloom
But a part of the earth receives no light
The rays don't peerce Tibet's dard pall

If the United Nations really exists
Let it look at the state of the Land of Snows
People will claim their human rights
Even those who renounce the violent path

The M aoist s mock the rule of law
Mock the rights of other folk
This soil is ours, Tibetan soil
Seized by the ruthless Chinese hordes

If we're worthy of our forebears
W'll put iron into our hearts
    And resolution into our minds
To take our ancestral freedom ba ck

Li berty's more than a heap of cash
The struggle of our people for
Their future in the Land of Snows
Is sweeter than safety, sweter than life

A thousnd rivers meet in the sea
And Tibetan from every part of our land
Come together in one heart and so ul
In T enzin Gyaltso, His Holiness

If the immutable spirit and soul of mand
Can lift us from our daily round
We'll find there's nothing beyond our powers
Nothin in the world we cannot do
    Lobsang Phuntsok

    ***** ****
    Evanescent Sweetheart

    Friend of my childhood
    Evanescent love
    My brain and my eyes
    Are magicked to you
    Come into my arms
    Evanesent one

    My parents said No
But I gave you a ring
    And the marriage piece--
    Tuquoise in your hair.
    You're my l ove a nd yet
    An evanescent one

    I found a golden bracelet
For your wrist and coral beads
    To put around your neck
But none of that can help
    It's evanescent still
    Our evanescent love

I leashed my trust and hope
    But something carried over
From our past li ves ha s stopped us
    Don't cry--there is no way
    To contradict our karma.
In this life we'll be apart

    Yo ung Prin cess

    Sweet heart, what's your name?
    Whisper in my ear
    I'll carve into my soul
The heart's truth that I hear

    Let love's gate open wide
Come here and sit by me
And let your sweet hand lead us
    Into acstacy

    Little princess
    Little princess
    Little princess
    Little prince ss

    You sing like Lata Mangeshkar*
With the cast of your beautiful eyes
    Send me a loving expression
    With your pretty melodies

    You show your compassion
Like Tara as all can see
But come and seal your kindness
    On me, on only me

Monastic robes are their peaceful ornament.

Return to The Land of Snow

My happy father land, my happy father land Tibet,
I am in a foreign land; days are longer than years.
The snow lion is s ad in a fo reign land.

My brothers and sisters in Tibet, my dear brothers and sisters in Tibet,
in this foreign land I will work forever for your hope.
The snow lion will fulfill his promise.

To you my teachers I pray.
On you, divine protectors, I rely.
You, Red and Black prot ectors,
Be my guidance, grant me power.
Grant power now to the snow lion.

In this life time of mine
Independence is more to me than life.
I am the warrior, the snow lion.
The snowy land is my heart's root.
The young snow lio n will soon return.

    Thundril-Unity

You will not find the enemy
Among those who speak our mother tongue
It's a brutal horde of Red C hinese
Who've set their boots upon our land

    Repeat
    Repeat

We have to stand together as one
As long as we have any strength in our bones
As long as we're faithful to our own
When Maoists squat upon our soil

We're kept way for a length of time
From the h igh ranges and rivers of home
But let us break our exile now
And get back to the Land of Snows

    Repeat
    Repeat

For the present time, for the present time
The days and nights are slipping by.
For forty years, for forty years
The nights and days have flowed away...

A ll who speak the Dh arma's tongue,
Three provinces must stand as one
If the old will see their home again
If the young will see the Land of Snows

    Repeat
    Repeat
