Story Behind the Song
I wrote this song in September 2002. It all started with calling someone at my work, and getting to hear 'she's not in today'. That kinda got my mind going, although it didn't mean anything, in my head I started wondering what someone would think when being more interested in a person, making an efford and discovering she's not there... I often think 'THAT would make a nice song'. A few hours later, I had the words on paper.
So basically, this song is what happens in a guy's head, being really nervous about seeing 'her' again that day, but it all ends up in disappointment when it turns out that she isn't going to be there that day.
Hmmm... yes, that's pretty much it...
Lyrics
As every day
seems just the same, I
get things up my head that really
shouldn't be there at all
But every day
the things they do
why?
instead of slowly fading out, they leave
a mark upon the wall
She minute she,
walks through the door, she
gets inside my head and makes me
believe that nothing stays the same at all
The minute I,
walk through her door, it
makes me loose my head and almost
makes me stumble, makes me fall
Maybe I, see her eyes
One more time, make me understand
It's all up to her,
it's all in her hand
An empty chair, and empty room...
She's not in
She might be here tomorrow
She might be gone forever
I really don't know her that well
She's not in
Don't know where she's headin
But it might just take forever
To forget her,
to forget her
Maybe I, see her eyes
One more time, make me understand
It's all up to her,
it's all in her hand
An empty room, and empty feeling...
She's not in
She might be here tomorrow
She might be gone forever
I really don't know her that well
She's not in
Don't know where she's headin
But it might just take forever
To forget her,
to forget her
She's not in
I never thought she wouldn't
I never thought I couldn't
look into her eyes, today
she's not in
I might be gone tomorrow
the day fades away,
I wonder what makes me compel
But I really don't know her...
that well
