	Story Behind the Song This song, originally titled "Heartbeat of the Fallen Muse," was spontaneously recorded as a 23 minute improvisation in April 2002. After recording, however, it was decided that the song was too powerful to remain unreleased. It was then determined that a 4-6 minute version would appear on the album under the name "Heartbeat of the Muse." During the recording process, however, it became clear that the song was still too long, as it was interrupting the progress of the album. As a result, a final version, "Fallen," was recorded at just under 2 minutes to ease the transition between "Sea of Flames" and "Covenant." While this recording does not (and cannot) represent the original recording in full, it does capture some of the emotion that the original contained so much of. The 4-6 minute version will still be performed at future Envy is Blind shows and could possibly appear on a later release.
