Story Behind the Song
I believe that many of us can relate to this little piece. Basically, this song represents our misfortunes and hardships as children and how we tend to carry them with us in our adult lives. Incidentally, I composed most of the guitar about 15 years ago when I was 17 years old and had been living away from home for about two years.
Lyrics
As a little boy,
My life always had its little ways
Of making more
Than my share of fears.
Mothers hand was falling,
Fathers fist was shaking, warning me,
"Stop all that noise"
But if only he could hear...
Solitude came easy.
Nothing else could fill the empty space
That I explored
Through the pain and tears.
Trapped inside myself,
Everything was misfortune and pain
And nothing more could
Balance me.
Here's the new day dawning,
Nothing more than yesterday.
I'm still that little boy
Now without a tear.
Suffering inside,
I could never get used to
The pain that still resides to
Balance me.
