Ever get that feeling you'd rather be doing something else? Yea, I know. Head out back, turn on the hose, and avoid the lawn gnomes. Who knows what you'll pull in. |

Story Behind the Song
I created this track in Reason to mess about with some more traditional instruments -- guitars / xylophones. Once I had laid out the guitar melody everything else seemed to follow. The final step was to scrape my old games for some good fx samples. Some fellow godgamers will recognise several samples from Civilization II. Is that a spy in your aqueduct or are you just happy to guillotine?
Lyrics
A warm floor of bass and the spill of water greet the listener at the beginning of this track. With the help of a tamborine and a guitar we set the scene.
Following the notes of the bass, a tooty synth melody comes to the foreground. A xylophone reminds us to to keep our sense of humor.
Just after, we begin to depart from reality. An overly distorted beat and, shortly after, an acid melody arrive with a rough sound. These new voices, however, have no quarrel with the scene and coexist peacefully.
The water returns to give our displaced minds a freshen-up and to introduce a subtle pad instrument. For several more bars we relive the scene against the background of the pad.
After a short breakdown/buildup we once again resume the casual observation of the scene.
Staring at anything can get boring so we begin to back away
(as this description is from the actual music) leaving only partial images remaining until the piece closes with the simple bass, guitar, and, of course, the pad.
The final crunch reminds us its time to stop daydreaming, the piece is over.
