Story Behind the Song
Ken Williams was a great friend to all jazz musicians in the Cambridge, MA area. He was also an extraordinary man in general; photorapher, social activist and golfer. Most notably, as a social activist he was instrumental in getting the sanction against the Apartheid government of South Africa started.
The Pocket Big Band is my 9 - piece group. Jim Pastore and Bob Coviello, trumpets; Garo Saraydarian, trombone; Paul Combs alto/soprano sax, flute; Doug Leaffer, tenor sax; Frank Rull, baritone sax; Don Hemwall, piano; Tony Sumbury, bass; Paul Marcantonio, drums.
