You see her day after day.rain..snow..blistering heat. One day the street corner is without her peddling her flowers...did anyone else notice her absence? Does anyone care?
CD: Neil Shoesmith..Original songs(past and present)   Label: no label at this time
    Credits: production:Alan Shoesmith

    Story Behind the Song
A quick run through, one friday at Alan's. My focus was to preserve the song. Production and more instrumentation will come later....the song seems to stand ok in it's basic form. The stripped arrangement allows the song to be the focus. As technology expands the possibilities I find myself reverting to the past to find the songs with substance. Not every song can stand alone without having to fill the sound with bleeps, samples, overdubs and effects.

    Lyrics
The weathered lines on her face...The tatterred dress from some ungodly place...The sun's taken the color, from her hair....Just how long has she been standing there?....Could this have been the life that she'd have choosen?..or did the thinking come from that bottle of poisen?

She was the one that sold the flowers on the corner..I don't think anyone gave her roses.
She was the one that sold the flowers from the bucket on the corner...I don't think anyone gave her roses.

She'd occupied that corner since I was a boy....Selling flowers to last minute well wishers..spreading comfort peace and joy...Her life ended at those crossroads...the coroner took her away....just hope someone thinks to place some flowers on her grave.

    Chorus......fade
