	Story Behind the Song Sleep with the TV on. It might make your dreams weird. Played a party out in the country one Friday night several years ago. Like real rebels we set the band up on the back patio of the apartment. I have no idea why, but someone must have complained, and the cops busted the party. It wasn't this song we were playing when the excitement started, but this song was brand new, so for me it held the story. Right in the middle of a song, the sliding screen door of the apartments whipped open, and several people poured out. We turned in amazement and watched as these guys and girls sprinted around the drumset, through the amps and past the pa and run out through a field into the woods. We looked at each other and kept playing. Then several county cops burst through, right through the band set-up, and followed in hot pursuit. BY this time we were laughing and confused, but never stopped. Finally a rather friendly policeman came back all out of breath and told us all to stop playing. Of course we did, duhhhh. Never did find out what happened that night. Lyrics I lay on the couch asleep the tv plays on by what do they say to me when I ain't got no eyes maybe it's the news that i hear that makes me have these dreams maybe it's top 40 music i don't care its all the same it's in my brain now! what's this I hear, while I'm sleeping here. who gives them all this information who tells them what they're not telling you who writes the scripts for all these actors do you ever wonder theses things? I lay on the bed asleep at all hours of the night what do they say to me when I ain't got no sight maybe it's the cheap commercial that makes me have these dreams maybe it's a gameshow i don't care it's all the same it's in my brain now...
