Infatuation is the conviction that a particular person, usually unattainable, is the perfect embodiment of embodiment. The protagonist in this song cannot get his beloved out of his mind, and longs for the day when he can transform his desires into action, but in the meantime he enjoys thinking about what he could do, what he would do, if only he could bridge that chasm between distance and intimacy. |
CD: Blue Faded Dreams

Story Behind the Song
Happy tune came to me in a parking garage. Wasn't sure what to write the lyrics about, but unrequited love is always a good source of inspiration. Thanks to Scatman Dan for his great vocal scatwork and wawawas.
Lyrics
I saw you in a backyard movie, killin’ time, feelin’ fine,
A real contender with a blender,
Jezebel with no panty lines.
My camera caught you in the middle of a monkeyshine pantomime,
Wryly smiling, so beguiling,
Slingin’ salt and squeezin’ lime.
I saw you down at Port Aransas, in a barely-C bikini,
Tippin’ ’tinis, smokin’ seaweed,
Between a rock and the deep blue sea.
I dream about you every Tuesday, in my mind, Angeline,
How you landed on this planet,
How you stole my summertime.
I thought you were a hot tomato,
Red and green, beauty queen,
But when I got you in my cot you turned into a magazine.
Someday I’ll land a lover like you, marathon Amazon,
And when your mine sweet Angeline,
You’ll never get your jammies on.
