	Story Behind the Song Ron brought the idea and a version to a songwriters workshop for evaluation in Jacksonville. Rick showed up in the lobby of the Ramada Inn a couple of workshops later and said, "Man, you need a co-writer on that song." That was 9 pm. At 4 am we had alot of it flushed out. The following month Rick finished the song and did this demo. In Nashville, after hearing the demo, somebody said, "Man, give this guy a beer." It was raining on the highway and I couldn't see the road. So I got off this exit and headed for the neon glow. Verse Did you say you left somebody, too? Guess it's the going thing. You're not looking past a friendly talk; but who knows where this could end. I wish that I could think of all those clever come on lines. But right now words escape me and it's more than just the wine. You see, Chorus Mary Ann sent me and she led me here to you. But she forgot to stay behind; her memory came here too.
