Story Behind the Song
In 2000 we attended a Christian Youth Festival in Manchester, England called "The Message". During the event we sang a song about God rescuing the people of Manchester and then, some months later whilst reading Psalm 33 in the Bible, I felt inspired to write a biblical song that our church could sing about our own town.
This is our first song recorded using "n-track studio". It's been apretty steep learning curve so please forgive the short-comings.
Lyrics
Blessed is the town whose God is the LORD
The people He has chosen for His own
The LORD looks down from heaven,
On the people of this place
From His holy habitation, to save them
The fields are ripe for harvest,
But the labourers are few
Sheep without a shepherd;
As we were too
How lovely on the mountains,
Are the feet that bring good news
But how can they believe unless they hear
Let Your River flow, say the word say, "Go!"
Send us out into Your harvest field
Let Your River flow, let Your River flow
Let Your River flow over me
