Story Behind the Song
One day while sitting around with my guitarist and bass player, trying to write a new song, we had an accidental slip of the tongue. A beautiful riff, a lovely melody ... but sometimes things just get out of hand! Oh well, enjoy! It's a fun song!
Lyrics
1st-VERSE:
It was a sunny day on a beach in Califonia
She was standing there with the salt breeze in her hair
Her dress was blowing in the wind as she said "Hi"
How could I ... have known .... she was a guy
2nd-VERSE:
Her hair was silky and her skin was golden brown
Her eyes so blue she was the prettiest in town
The first thing I noticed that didn't seem quite right
Was a five O'clock shadow by dawns early light
Chorus:
For awhile there I didn't think that we would make it
No she didn't seem my kind
Never put the lid down, when she went to the bathroom
Yeah, I nearly lost my mind
3rd-VERSE:
As the years go on, I've learned to overlook
All those little things, like the mustache and who would cook
There was something missing tho, in this little family of ours
But a Doctor in wisconsin, delivered two kids in a barn
Chorus:
4th-VERSE:
Now we've both grown old and I look back on the years
We enjoy our rocking chairs, and clipping hair out of her ears
Tho it was weird at time, like having sex ...
Thank God I didn't have to sleep in the ... "brown" spot
Chorus:
