Story Behind the Song
I wrote this one while driving in the blazing sun
of Southern California, just outside of Sunland, just before
Lakeview Terrace, staring at the arid mountains before me,
and seeking shelter from the blazing summer sky.

Barren Blue Sky

give me a bit of blue, give me a bit of white
give me cloud spotted skies, and a cool moonlit night
blazing barren blue , from one end to the other
empty, shadeless, feels, like i'm searching for a brother
life is a desert, with no clouds in sight
life is an eclipse, when the moon blocks the light
sometimes the sky is sunny, sometimes the sky is dark
sometimes we need some clouds, to show us who we are
Not just the barren blue sky
Not just the barren blue
bring the pouring rain, washing all around
watering the earth, with quiet rushing sound
the dark overcast, gives way to the sun
warms the air around me, and a new day has begun
Not just the barren blue sky
Not just the barren blue
Not just the barren blue sky
Not just the barren blue
life is a desert, with no clouds in sight
life is an eclipse, when the moon blocks the light
sometimes the sky is sunny, sometimes the sky is dark
sometimes we need clouds, to show us who we are
Not just the barren blue sky
Not just the barren blue
Not just the barren blue sky
Not just the barren blue
