Lyrics
Light Your Candles, We Will Sing
Pammy K & Phyllis A. Travis (SEPT 2,
2002)
#1:Deep within a child’s heart
There is a seed of Faith and Hope.
Light is the candle to the seed,
But is dim before it glows.
So we must feed the flame with all our
love,
And all the Light we have above,
Because each seed needs light to grow,
And every child a heart to hold.
Chorus:
Let the spark ignite the flame
Feel the warmth that light can bring
Give us courage we can dream
Light your candles we will sing
Candlelight as bright as stars
Will symbolize our unity
Strengthen our belief that we
Can each go on with dignity
[BRIDGE]
#2:A child wounded in the dark
Struggles hard with wrong and right.
One small candle barely shines enough,
For Hope to glimmer in the night.
But with our candles, when we sing,
We are the torch that justice brings!
We turn night into a day,
For every child we save.
CHORUS
[BRIDGE]
#3:
TONIGHT, ALL CHILDREN HAVE A NAME,
THEY ARE THE TORCH, WE ARE THEIR FLAME.
TOGETHER, THEY WILL PUSH BACK SHADOWS,
AND TRIUMPH OVER SHAME!
SO, WATCH EACH CANDLE, KEEP IT BRIGHT!
SO EVERY CHILD CAN SEE TONIGHT,
THE HOPE THEIR COURAGE BRINGS!
LIGHT YOUR CANDLES, HELP THEM SING!
Chorus
